Specialist Services Under 25’s

Sefton Sexual Health Service has designated under 25s  sessions at Southport Centre for Health & Well-being on Wednesdays and Saturdays. See clinic opening times for details.

These sessions offer a range of contraceptive methods including long acting reversible methods (LARC), chlamydia testing and treatment, testing for other sexual transmitted infections (STIs) and treatment or referral, advice and support for planned and unplanned pregnancy, pregnancy testing, emergency contraception and general advice & support on a range of sexual health issues.

We offer everyone the same level of confidentiality even if you are under 16. This means you can tell others about your visit, but we won’t (unless we’re worried that you or others may not be safe and might need extra help). You can also come on your own without a parent or carer. These sessions are open for both young men and women. You can ask to see male or female staff if you prefer and we’ll try to honour your request as much as possible.

Remember, if you’re under 25 years of age you can also attend any sexual health clinic. The difference will be that there will be people of all ages there also.

Chlamydia screening.

chlamydia lets get screened

We suggest that all sexually active young people under the age of 25 take the opportunity to have a chlamydia screen every 6 months or every time they have a new sexual partner. Screening for chlamydia is simple as it is a urine test. All Sefton Sexual Health clinics offer this service and there is a home postal kit request service too. Your results are texted to your mobile or by letter on request. Please click on the chlamydia button for more details and how to request a home testing kit.

Sefton C-Card
